What’s On at Flavorpill: The Links That Made the Rounds In Our Office

Today at Flavorpill, we wished LEGO a very happy 80th birthday. We read the first few entries to Dave Eggers’ 90 Days, 90 Reasons, a political project which currently includes contributions from cultural icons like Roger Ebert and George Saunders. We were fascinated by this infographic of every trip ever attempted or planned to the moon. We thought this 19th century copper anti-masturbation device might be the scariest thing that we’ve ever seen. We watched a camera-strapped torpedo swim with the dolphins. We found a new Tumblr devoted to seventh graders’ sex questions just as amusing as you’d think it’d be. We enjoyed learning more about glitch art in the latest installment of PBS’ Off Book. We teared up over this lovely letter that Katharine Hepburn wrote to Spencer Tracy 18 years after his death. And finally, we decided that if the latest American Idol rumors are true, it’s only right that the Alanis Morissette/Mariah Carey judging trifecta is rounded out with another female music icon from the ’90s — may we suggest Courtney Love?
