Updating classic stories and twisting them for television is all the rage these days — Once Upon a Time, Elementary — and ABC’s latest project is no different: the network has recently begun developing a new show called Finn & Sawyer, which will be a contemporary take on Mark Twain’s 1884 classic novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

According to The Hollywood Reporter , the drama, which will be written and produced by Detroit 1-8-7 duo Jason Richman and David Zabel, is “an adventure-themed reinvention that revolves around the two famed literary characters who re-meet as young men in their 20s and form an investigative firm in a bustling and steampunk New Orleans.” So wait, this show is about adult versions of Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer solving crimes while wearing brass goggles? Will there be jokes about fences and rafts? Suffice to say, we’re a little skeptical, though the concept does remind us sort of pleasantly of Angel, which never hurt anyone. What about you, dear readers — what do you think of this idea?
