First things first: Somehow we missed hearing about a Britney Spears experimental opera that debuted in New York City last year. It’s called Timberbrit, and as NPR reports, it’s the brainchild of composer Jacob Cooper, a doctoral student at Yale. By slowing down a few of Britney’s songs using a technique called “time-stretching” he was able to imbue her sugary pop hits with darker meaning. Check out the video for “Worst Fantasy,” a song inspired by “Toxic” after the jump.
