Bowie Would Like You to Know He’s Not Involved with the V&A’s Bowie Exhibition

As passionate David Bowie fans, we were thrilled to hear that London’s Victoria and Albert Museum would be hosting an exhibition of his incredible costumes next year — especially when we read that ol’ Ziggy Stardust himself (who’s become a bit of a recluse of late) would have a hand in curating the items. But apparently there was some kind of miscommunication, and that’s not the case at all, at least according to Bowie.

“Contrary to recently published reports relating to the announcement by the V&A of an upcoming David Bowie Exhibition, I am not a co-curator and did not participate in any decisions relating to the exhibition,” he writes in a post on his Facebook page. “The David Bowie Archive gave unprecedented access to the V&A and museum’s curators have made all curatorial and design choices. A close friend of mine tells me that I am neither ‘devastated,’ ‘heartbroken’ nor ‘uncontrollably furious’ by this news item.” Curious, right? [via ArtsBeat]
