Rate-a-Trailer: Clive Owen in The Boys Are Back

In the latest from Shine director Scott Hicks, which is based on Simon Carr’s 2001 memoir The Boys Are Back In Town , Clive Owen plays Joe Warr, a successful sports writer who tragically loses his wife and is forced to raise their young son alone. He imports in his teenager from a previous marriage, who has presumably been living with his mother, to help out. It looks like a bit of a tearjerker (in fact, Owen cries twice in the trailer), but it’s nice to see him in more of an everyday, family drama instead of a period piece or heist flick, don’t you think?
