Stanley Kubrick fans have been waiting months for a glimpse at Room 237, the documentary about The Shining obsessives that premiered to much fanfare (because who is a better audience for such a film than film critics?) at Sundance earlier this year. Unfortunately for them, the first trailer doesn’t offer much in the way of footage: All we get is the camera creeping across that iconic floor, plus some tense music and a few breathless quotes from critics. Hey, at least we know director Rodney Ascher has respect for Kubrick as stylist. Click through to watch the clip, and try to contain your excitement for now, because the movie won’t hit theaters until next year. Here’s hoping we’ll get some actual footage before then.
