CNN has confirmed that Les Paul — the mulitple Grammy winner and recorded music hero responsible for multitrack recording (now industry standard), tape delay, and the Les Paul Gibson guitar — has died at the age of 94 from complications due to pneumonia. As the official press release from Gibson points out, he was the only individual to share membership into the Grammy Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the National Inventors Hall of Fame, and the National Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
