If you’ve never paid much attention to the Golden Globe Awards, you’ll want to start doing so now. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will be hosting the 70th annual film and television awards ceremony, which is set to broadcast on Sunday, January 13. The event takes place days before the Academy Awards nominations are announced, and we’ll be finding out who is up for the Globe statuette when the contenders are revealed December 13. The former SNL Weekend Update co-anchors will be taking over from comedian Ricky Gervais, which should only fuel the chatter that The Office star was at one point rumored to be too foul for the podium. “Having both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on board to host this year’s festivities is a major coup,” NBC’s President of Alternative and Late Night Programming Paul Telegdy told Deadline. We wholeheartedly agree. Comedic chemistry doesn’t get much better than this.
