Compelling Portraits of Retired Playboy Bunnies

What happens to the women of Playboy’s clubs after they retire their bunny ears and cottontails? Artist Robyn Twomey found out at a Playboy Bunny reunion in Las Vegas, where she photographed several of the women. The portraits are tightly framed and haven’t been digitally retouched. Their posture, clothing, and the look in their eyes reveals a number of emotions and attitudes. “They are complex characters that are proud and empowered by their beauty and sexuality, at the same time stricken by the fleeting nature of it,” Twomey further explains on her website — which we found thanks to Thaeger. See Twomey’s compelling study of age and beauty in our gallery.
