Discovering DIY Creativity in the Backwoods of Michigan

Share:

Flying from JFK to Flint, Michigan — a crashed-car city that has been notoriously featured in Michael Moore films — for ten days of R&R and visits with friends and family, we quickly got on the road to Oscoda, a tranquil town a few hours north, on the sandy shores of Lake Huron. Restless from a daily routine of swimming and grilling food, we made jaunts to the local thrift stores, antique shops, cabins filled with crafts, and the Iosco County Fair to discover some DIY creativity. In the end, we brought home some quirky, marvelous finds and shared lots of laughs along the way. Of course, what’s a vacation without a camera? We got lots of shots of some spots we visited and the awesome things we added to the screwball section of our art collection. Click here to view a slideshow of our adventure>>
