Brooklyn filmmaker and TROPFEST NY regular JONATHAN EMMERLING is half of the directorial duo behind this smart and funny new short, LAID OFF BY LEHMAN: ONE BROKER’S STORY.
The best line: “There’s a certain pride I feel now that I’m salt of the earth — I kind of wish I could work in a factory, like in olden times.”
We feel like we’ve met this guy many times before; he’s the one who smiles obliviously as he cuts an entire line of people who are waiting in the cold outside of a bar.
And now he runs through the streets of the city with a shower curtain tied around his neck because he can’t afford his personal trainer.
See for yourself after the jump.
