Top Five Funniest Moments from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner

Share:

Last night’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner offered President Barack Obama the opportunity to poke fun at Washington, Republicans, his detractors, and himself. The event started in 1920 and has transformed into a bit of a roast, with the chance to see some of the funniest comedians and biggest stars all in one spot. Conan O’Brien hosted the ceremonies, but the President wins our vote for funniest of the evening. Last night was no Amy Poehler and Tina Fey at the Golden Globes (hint, hint), but here are five of the funniest moments from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Steven Spielberg’s Obama

Steven Spielberg has cast Daniel Day-Lewis as the lead in his newest movie, Obama — kind of. We appreciate the President’s deadpan expression throughout and his jokes about his own ears: “I don’t know he walks around with these things.”

Conan’s D.C. dream cast

If Conan O’Brien made a mini-series about Washington, these are the people he would cast as D.C.’s biggest power players. We can’t wait to watch a TV show starring Bob Barker, Grandpa Munster, Tan Mom, and friends.

The Muslim socialist joke

Here’s a special shout-out to the conspiracists that wax crazy about Obama’s religion and economic stance.

The House of Cards intro

The dinner opened with a House Of Cards spoof. “It must be hard to write jokes about a town that already is one,” Kevin Spacey tells Conan.
