An Apology

Flavorwire published a post earlier today titled “23 People Who Will Make You Care About Poetry in 2013.” Readers responded swiftly, rightly pointing out that the list was overwhelmingly white, including only two writers of color. As a publication committed to promoting equality and highlighting cultural figures of all races, genders, sexual orientations, etc., we sincerely apologize for this piece’s lack of inclusiveness. One of Flavorwire’s greatest goals is to promote dialogue, and we welcome all critique and feedback. We thank our readers for calling this oversight to our attention, and are currently at work on a more thorough follow-up post that will appear in the next week.
