Madrid-based digital artist Juan Carlos Paz has documented his surreal journey to a fantasy world called Bakelanasland. On his website, Paz writes, “These photographs are what I’ve come back with so far…life forms that comprise the core essence of a much larger family that keeps growing everyday.” Mixing realistic photography with gorgeous, mind-blowing illustration, Paz’s series (spotted on Faith is Torment) demonstrates how a creative eye can turn what is already a beautiful and extraordinary setting into something even more magical.
