Snow was a lot more fun when it was a get out of school free card, but we’re digging the snowflakes in Alexey Klijtaov’s macro photo series — which we spotted on Design you Trust. The Internet’s macro obsession can get a bit tiresome, but Klijtaov’s images reveal a fascinating alien world hidden within the feathery ice crystals. That “hairy” stuff you see in the background is a wool backdrop the artist uses so the delicate colors can shine. Klijtaov captured most of his macro snowflakes from the balcony of his own home, and he details the process on his blog (it involves strapping his camera to a board, oh my).
