Stunning Makeup Portraits That Transform Models into Living Paintings

We’ve admired the photographs of Alexander Khokhlov and face paintings of Valeriya Kutsan before. The collaborative duo transformed models with striking back-and-white designs — and most recently, turned women into living artworks. Each woman’s face has been disguised as a two-dimensional painting in different styles and mediums — including graphite, watercolor, oil painting, and abstract art. In many cases, the only thing that belies the illusion is the model’s eyes or strands of hair. We spotted the new series on Lost at E Minor, and feature Khokhlov’s photos and Kutsan’s makeup designs in our gallery, below.
