Batman Travels Through Texas in Rémi Noël’s Black-and-White Photos

Gotham City can get stressful, especially after spending a lot of time as a shadowy, cloaked vigilante. Doesn’t Batman deserve a vacation? Instead of taking Bruce Wayne’s masked alter ego to somewhere exotic like the Bahamas, photographer Rémi Noël carried him down to rural Texas for his series Lonely Batman (spotted via Huffington Post). The result: a somber, yet quite charming, look at one American icon within a classic American setting — and probably what would ensue if Nebraska director Alexander Payne launched a new franchise starring the comic book hero.
