Let’s Overanalyze the First Photos From ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 4

We’ve already seen a teaser for the upcoming fourth season of Game of Thrones, HBO’s wacky fantasy-drama series full of medieval-style conflicts (both militaristic and sexual) that returns this April. Luckily for those of us who are finding it difficult to wait that long to find out what’s going to happen next season (but who have conveniently not read the books), HBO just released a whole slew of stills from the upcoming season. There’s short-haired Jaime! Still-menacing Joffrey! Some new guy nick-named The Red Viper! After the jump, check out the new photos (spotted via EW) with our predictions of what each character will do this season.

Jon Snow will look concerned and cold in the snowy wilds beyond the wall.

Daenerys will look regal and chill while roaming the lands and building her army.

Sansa Stark will politely hold the hand of her husband Tyrion Lannister, while making it plainly clear that she feels like a hostage in her marriage.

Margaery Tyrell and her grandmother Lady Olenna walk around, take in the sights, and try their best to ignore Margaery’s sadistic child husband.

Joffrey Baratheon will be a jerk to everyone around him, and will probably murder more prostitutes.

Tywin Lannister will be very stern and aggressive this season, I bet!

Jaime and Cersei Lannister might have an awkward talk about how their son / nephew (ew!) is a terrible king. Also, Jaime will likely be sad about his missing hand.

The Hound will beat up anonymous guys in armor with gusto. Maybe that steely exterior will crack just a little and we’ll see his sensitive side.

Arya Stark will follow around the Hound out of desperate need for a father figure.

Ygritte and this other ginger wildling will roam around in the wild, doing wildling things.

Tyrion will continue to feel guilty about his phony, unconsummated marriage to Sansa while his true love Shae will continue to hold onto a lot of contempt for him.

Samwell Tarly will continue to be the bumbling, lovable Samwise Gamgee of Game of Thrones.

Daario Naharis of the Stormcrows will return (this time played by a different actor) and attempt to gain Dany’s affections with his piercing eyes and strong jawline.

These characters, Prince Oberyn Martell (aka The Red Viper) and Ellaria Sand, are new, and I don’t know what they’re going to be up to. But from the looks of them, I’m betting they’ll be up to no good!
