The Drawings of Ailing Children Brought to Life in Magical Photos Starring the Kids as Heroes in Their Own Adventures

Share:

Something magical happened when photographer Shawn Van Daele partnered with ailing children to bring their fantasies to life. The artist, who we learned about on Lost at E Minor, took their drawings and cast the kids as the heroes of their own adventures in a series of photographs. It’s all part of a wonderful project he calls Drawing Hope — the first 28 images of which will be part of a book that Van Daele is co-writing with his mother. All proceeds from the project are being donated to the various groups and foundations that support the children. It’s a storybook saga that tugs at the heartstrings. Grab a few tissues, and head past the break to meet Kirsten, Princess of Butterfly Garden; Jack, the Hero of Hope Street; and David, Keeper of the Stars.
