Hi there. We’re currently looking for a great editorial apprentice to join our team beginning in early June. Here’s what we want: Ideally you are a college or grad student who is pop culture-obsessed and funny, with a strong voice. You are a speedy writer with a bunch of websites that you can’t wait to check out each day. You have a strong interest in and at least a little bit of experience with original reporting. You have past work or internship experience in a related field and are comfortable with generating creative ideas on your own, but willing to pitch in and write assigned pieces, as well as perform less glamorous tasks like research and transcription. You have at least a basic knowledge of Photoshop and HTML. You’re on Twitter and Tumblr, and familiar with bookmarking sites like Reddit and Digg.
This apprenticeship is paid. To apply, send me your resume and quick, one- to two-sentence descriptions of your favorite film, book, album, and TV show of the past year. Candidates must be able to work out of our New York office for at least two full days per week.
