‘New York Bike Style’ Depicts a Growing Urban Subculture

Share:

It’s pretty much impossible to avoid bike culture in New York City. Whether you’re in Manhattan or one of the outer boroughs, you’re likely going to spot several people cruising on two wheels. So it seems like photographer Sam Polcer’s new book, New York Bike Style, has been a long time coming. Featuring a variety of New Yorkers on surprisingly diverse sets of wheels — from road bikes to mutated tandems — the book is a gorgeous look at a growing subculture. Check out some images from the collection (spotted via Feature Shoot), with nary a CitiBike to be found.
