“It’s all fun and games until someone tea-bags the White House.” When describing the 700 person, revivalist GOP gathering in Lafayette Square last April, Salon.com said it best. What originally began as a gathering in honor of Tax Day and “generalized fury at Barack Obama, his budget, the Federal Reserve and whatever else ails the conservative movement,” has turned into a full-fledged movement. This “Tea Party” is striving to the bring the moderate-ified Republican party back to by-the-book conservatism, while pushing for the election of their “ideologically sound” favorites.
And now, there is documentary to tell the tale of five individuals and their role in the epic Tea Party of April. Trailer after the jump.
Still confused what these revolutionary war outfit-donning peeps are about? In the film’s own words: “… a return to and respect for a Constitutionally limited government, personal responsibility and fiscal restraint at the Federal level.” Is it cool or is it whack? Let us know your thoughts.
Also, who’s down with G-O-P?
We still prefer Earl Grey. English Breakfast is good, too.
