Though perhaps she was a bit more aggressive than most of us would be on this issue, Love was expressing a very real exhaustion with the trend that followed Lana Del Rey’s rise to fame about four years ago. And yet, everything old can be made new again when adorable animals are involved. Ace photographer Sophie Gamand (whose canine-focused work Flavorwire has featured before) decked out some incredibly sweet-looking pit bulls with brilliant floral garlands for a series called Flower Power: Pit Bulls of the Revolution. Perfectly timed to May Day and beautiful spring weather, Gamand’s photos cast this often-misunderstood breed in a softer, gentler light.
