Every episode of Inside Amy Schumer deserves to be talked about, but there’s always one segment that rises above the rest and necessitates a little extra conversation. In lieu of recapping full episodes, we’re here to help you with water-cooler conversation by letting you know which sketch was an absolute must-watch.
So much of Inside Amy Schumer, and this season in particular, has featured wonderful, smart, and insightful cultural commentary — from “Last Fuckable Day” to “12 Angry Men Inside Amy Schumer” — and last night’s “Fight Like A Girl” was no exception. There was the great Say Yes to the Dress gender-flipped parody that expertly showcased why those shows are ridiculous (in Say Fine to the Shirt, Justin Long mumbles his way to a revelation) and the weird Ambien-induced Internet male husband sketch.
That said, my favorite and most laugh-out-loud sketch of the night was also the silliest of the episode (and maybe of the entire season so far): the cold open in which Schumer, as a stripper, ends up working a dog’s bachelor party (she needs money to buy a color printer_. It’s odd but hilarious, from Schumer’s awkward dance moves to her coworker taking a dog upstairs for, er, a private session — and it all culminates in a gag about a dog with a gun. It’s true that I’m a sucker for basically all dog-related humor (and doubly so if the dogs are acting like humans!) but still, a great way to start another solid episode.
