If you’re like us, then you’ve only got about an hour or so of your Thanksgiving Day planned: the part where you’ll be feasting at the table. The rest of the holiday can be a bit of a wash — especially if you’re not a football fan. To help you avoid a tryptophan and boredom-induced coma, we’ve combed through the TV listings to come up with some required viewing. Enjoy!
* Starting at 7 a.m. USA is running a day-long House marathon; WE is doing the same with The Golden Girls; Bravo, The Real Housewives of Orange County. * AMC plays the entire Godfather trilogy beginning at 7:30 a.m. * It looks like FX is running Home Alone all day too. It’s a good movie, but we’re not sure it has reached A Christmas Story proportions yet. * Tommy Boy plays on TBS at 10 a.m. * At noon VH1 airs Behind the Music: T.I. * Discovery Health plays a show called Man Who Slept for 19 Years at 1 p.m. This could be you post-meal, so tune in for a preview. * A John Candy classic, Uncle Buck, is on E! at 2 p.m. Giant pancakes, anyone? * Speaking of classics, catch Charlie Brown Thanksgiving at 8 p.m. on ABC or Super Troopers in the same time slot on IFC. * MTV plays Addams Family Values starting at 9 p.m. * If you’re still awake, finish your evening off with Paul McCartney: Good Evening New York City on ABC at 10 p.m. Who isn’t thankful for The Beatles?
