Pernod® is unveiling the multi-disciplinary Creator Of contest that will celebrate and award today’s emerging visual artists.

Pernod® Absinthe was founded in France, at the beginning of the Belle Époque, in 1805. During the 19th Century the brand became a familiar feature of storied Bohemian cafés and artist salons. And now we’re hoping it will inspire you. There are two main requirements for submissions: All pieces must be original works, and all works must include the date 1805.

Submissions are being accepted through January 31, 2010, in the following categories: Painting, Illustration, Photography, Video, and Digital/Animation. Submissions will be accepted entirely online at www.facebook.com/pernodabsinthe. Judging will take place in February 2010 (Flavorpill’s own Leah Taylor will be on the panel!), followed by a winners announcement in March 2010.

To underscore its heritage, the Creator Of art contest will award its first place winner a cash prize of $1,805; second place $500; and third place $250. These creators will also receive valuable PR in March 2010 when the winners are announced and a celebration is being planned concurrent with New York City’s annual international art fair, the Armory Show.
