Pineapple Express and George Washington director David Gordon Green is now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, directing Stronger, a film about the Boston Marathon Bombing in 2013.
Stronger is adapted (by John Pollono) from Jeff Bauman’s biographical account of the bombing that destroyed both of his legs, killed three people and injured hundreds of others. While waiting for his girlfriend to finish the marathon, just before the bombing, Bauman had bumped into a suspicious man who’d later be identified as Tamerlan Tsarnaev. His book both documents that day and its aftermath, as well as his fight to walk again.
Green just finished production on the Sandra Bullock film, Our Brand Is Crisis, a film based on the documentary of the same name about the American campaign team behind the 2002 election in Bolivia.
