Kanye West screened his nine-minute video for “All Day” and “I feel Like That,” from his forthcoming album SWISH (formerly So Help Me God), directed by 12 Years a Slave filmmaker Steve McQueen. The duo appeared before an audience of 120 people, including West’s wife Kim Kardashian, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to see the video that was shot in London. West described himself as “a bad celebrity, but a pretty good artist,” to the crowd. McQueen indicated that the video is about “the gaze and the gaze following you.” He asked friend and collaborator West to “beat himself up” prior to filming. The piece was completed in three takes. West and McQueen sparked a friendship after West phoned the director a few years ago. They spoke frequently and eventually bumped into each other at a store in London. You can view “All Day / I Feel Like That” at LACMA until Thursday, July 30. The below clip comes from a bootleg recording by a fan via Stereogum.
