Daily Show alum Wyatt Cenac has been cast as the star of The Group, a TBS pilot about people involved in a support group for individuals who claim to be survivors of alien abductions. The comedy, executive produced by The Office creator Greg Daniels and Conan O’Brien, follows Cenac’s character, Wyatt Jones, a journalist who skeptically studies the group and slowly finds his dubiousness surrendering to legitimate interest.

The show seems to focus on the lives of its varied but seemingly invariably idiosyncratic characters, connected by the real-or-imaginary abductions and by virtue of living in the small town of Beacon, NY. As Deadline reports, the cast includes Luka Jones as a tollbooth worker/alien enthusiast, The Office‘s Oscar Nunez as a “hip priest,” Da’Vine Joy Randolph “the best door-to-door cosmetic salesperson on the Eastern seaboard,” Marylouise Burke as a “sex crazed retiree,” and Ana Gasteyer as the therapist who organized the support group who works part time at a furniture store. Another Period‘s Brian Huskey guest stars in the pilot as a tech executive who believes his wife has been abducted.
