Steve Carell Replaces Bruce Willis in Woody Allen’s Next Film

We recently reported that Die Hard hero Bruce Willis was probably fired from Woody Allen’s still untitled film. But the Unbreakable actor will be heading to Broadway to star in an adaptation of Stephen King’s Misery. Allen has been known to recast a role or two… or three, like that time he let Michael Keaton go from Purple Rose of Cairo ten days into production, replacing the actor with Jeff Daniels. Now, news has surfaced that Foxcatcher star Steve Carell has replaced Willis in the upcoming film, which is currently in production. The 40-Year-Old Virgin star has worked with Allen before on the 2004 film Melinda and Melinda (not to be confused with Seinfeld’s Rochelle, Rochelle), playing a small role. Carell joins Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg, Blake Lively, Parker Posey, and company in the soon-to-be Allen picture, for which details are still being kept under wraps (per usual for the director). We don’t envision a prosthetic nose being involved for this Carell role, thankfully.
