‘SNL’ Retains Entire Cast, Adds New Featured Player for Upcoming Season

Forget those rumors about Kenan and all that speculation about Kyle Mooney: no one’s leaving SNL this season, Splitsider reports. The news that Lorne is retaining the services of the entire current cast comes after this morning’s reveal of its latest member: 25-year-old stand-up Jon Rudnitsky, named one of the Just for Laughs festival’s New Faces of Comedy earlier this year.

The announcement has prompted some exasperation with the show’s decision to hire yet another white man just a couple years after criticisms of its lack of diversity led to the hiring of current cast members Sasheer Zamata and Leslie Jones (who was initially brought on as a writer, along with LaKendra Tookes). Still, Rudnitsky is accomplished in his own right; check out some of his Youtube clips here:

Rudnitsky will make his debut performance on October 3rd, when SNL returns with Miley Cyrus as host.
