Lana Del Rey has just released another track off Honeymoon. This one is perhaps the most titularly enticing from the formerly-shared track list, insomuch as it pairs her seemingly auto-piloted air of nostalgic romance with a bizarrely vague assertion: that this song is a good soundtrack for the act of “watching boys.” For, it’s called “Music to Watch Boys To.”
Thus, it would seem key to your enjoyment to round up some attractive men and have them do something — anything watchable, really; otherwise, the song simply may not make sense! Should you happen to just be listening, though, you’ll note: a striking resemblance to the verse of Ultraviolence‘s “Sad Girl,” an even more exaggerated knack for romanticizing languor than “High by the Beach,” and so much reverb that Del Rey could literally be singing “potato” over and over again without shaking the song’s sultry daze.
As she did with “High By the Beach,” Del Rey shared “Music to Watch Boys To” on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio.
