Craig Ferguson Finds an Unlikely New Home in Return to TV

Craig Ferguson’s The Late Late Show never did gangbusters ratings (does anything that’s on at 12:30am?), but he developed a group of fans that loved, loved, loved what he was doing. Good news for them!

Almost precisely a year after exiting his late-night gig, Ferguson has a new show in the works, says The Hollywood Reporter. Titled Join or Die with Craig Ferguson, the 16-episode, half-hour series will be yet another talk show, but on…The History Channel? The late night landscape just keeps on expandin’!

THR says Join or Die “features Ferguson debating provocative and timely topics with a panel of guests including celebrities, history experts as well as the American public via social media. Topics will include a range of offerings including the biggest presidential campaign flop, greatest founding father and key inventions.” So like a current events show, but about every event that’s ever happened in the history of this country.

No word on premiere date yet, but we’re already picturing a John Oliver style outsider-on-America schtick with a dash of Drunk History.
