“It’s J to I to the M-M-Y”: Justin Timberlake Pitches Late Night Theme Songs

In case you or Andy Samberg were wondering where Justin Timberlake was during this past Sunday’s Emmy Awards: it would appear that Timberlake was busy composing theme songs for Late Night with Seth Meyers.

In a bit from last night’s episode, an obtuse Timberlake bounces ideas off a receptive Meyers, but it eventually becomes clear that the theme songs were originally written for and then rejected by other late night hosts, including Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, James Cordon, John Oliver, and even Charlie Rose (though he apparently loved it, PBS had to reject it due to the “off-brand” swearing). No intended offense to Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O’Brien, Bill Maher, Larry Wilmore, and Trevor Noah.
