(Sorry grammar geeks. These last-minute tweaks didn’t involve fixing that oddly-spelled title.) With the limited competition in this year’s Best Original Screenplay field, mistake-riddled or not, Basterds has a real chance at taking home a statue. It would be Tarantino’s first Oscar since 1994, when he won his first for Pulp Fiction.
