As of this afternoon, the whistleblower is on Twitter, complete with the all-important verification checkmark. His handle is succinct (“@snowden”), his bio is a justifiable humblebrag (“I used to work for the government. Now I work for the people”), and his first follow speaks for itself (the NSA). Snowden 1, government surveillance agency’s creepy attempt at a relatable web presence 0.
