In a series of intricate pencil drawings, the Bulgarian-born artist Christo Dagorov makes the lips a canvas for a variety of surreal images, from landscapes to melanges of bodies to circuitry. By juxtaposing gorgeous and sometimes frightening visions that represent abstract concepts (titles include Aspiration, Wealth, and Waste) with such an intimate part of the body, Dagorov makes these ideas jarringly personal.
