After successfully premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival this past April, the Patricia Arquette and Vincent Piazza (Boardwalk Empire) starring crime-drama The Wannabe will receive a wider release this December.
This is Arquette’s second post-Boyhood film role following the poorly received Electric Slide (which premiered in April). The film is based on the true events of Thomas and Rosemarie Uva, who became obsessed with the 1992 trial of John Gotti, and attempted to rise in the mob ranks by robbing social clubs owned by the Gambino and Bonanno crime families.
Written and directed by Nick Sandow (better known as Joe Caputo in Netflix’s Orange is the New Black), and executive produced by Martin Scorsese, the film will be released in theaters available to stream on video-on-demand December 4, via Momentum and Orion Pictures.
