Jennifer Jason Leigh Also Seems to Be in the ‘Twin Peaks’ Revival

Despite the fact that the next season of Twin Peaks — and the first in 25 years — is currently in production for Showtime, the full cast of the fervently awaited project has not been revealed, with announcements about players — new and old — seemingly coming out one by one. This week’s newest (not yet officially confirmed) addition to the known cast the fantastic Jennifer Jason Leigh, who suddenly seems to be involved in the most exciting projects across TV and film. She’ll soon be seen starring in Quentin Tarantino’s brutal Western, The Hateful Eight and Charlie Kaufman’s stop-motion drama, Anomalisa.

Deadline reports that paparazzi photos of “what looked like” Leigh were taken during a night shoot for the show in the Mojave Desert (which alone is intriguing — given that thus far the show has been centered almost entirely in the pleasant wooded hell of the titular fictional Washington State town). The photos included her with Detective Dale Cooper (original cast member Kyle MacLachlan) himself, and allegedly also included Sheryl Lee — who played both Laura Palmer and Maddy Ferguson in the original. The same Deadline post also notes rumors about David Lynch trying to get Naomi Watts (whose double-role in Lynch’s Mulholland Drive brought her to Hollywood’s attention) to join.
