The Stone Roses to Reunite (Again)

The NME’s core readership can rejoice: the Stone Roses are reuniting! Again! The Manchester legends — known for releasing one great album in 1989, playing one great show at Spike Island in 1990, arguing a lot with their record company, and disintegrating spectacularly at Reading in 1996 — are getting back together to play three shows next year. The reunited band — featuring the original line-up of Ian Brown, John Squre, Gary “Mani” Mounfield, and Alan “Reni” Wren — will play the Etihad Stadium in Manchester on June 17 and 18, and headline the T in the Park festival in Scotland on July 8. As of now, there’s no word on anything else — no new material, no tour — but we’ll keep you updated if and when this changes.
