The answer to where to find fantastic beasts seems to be, at least as far as images and descriptions of the new film based on J.K. Rowling’s small fictional guidebook (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) are concerned, is New York, 90-something years ago. Today, Entertainment Weekly first shared their new Fantastic Beasts-themed cover, and later added a handful of other images — featuring some of the film’s stars — Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol and Dan Fogler.

In the film — which J.K. Rowling adapted from her small Harry Potter universe addendum of a book, and which is helmed by HP director David Yates — follows Redmayne as a certain “preeminent magi zoologist” named Newt Scamander to New York as part of his research on fantastic beasts. Waterston plays Porpentina Goldstein, who, if the book is any indication, is his love interest. Sudol plays her sister, Queenie, while Fogler is Jacob, a muggle who becomes Scamander’s friend.

Though they’re unfortunately not featured in these photos, the film will also star Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, and Colin Farrell.
