The First Trailer for ‘Now You See Me 2’ Would Like You To Know It’s a Sequel to ‘Now You See Me’

There was nothing about the 2013 caper movie Now You See Me that made it seem particularly sequel-worthy—until it did $350 million worldwide on a $75 million budget, and suddenly it seemed like there was maybe more story to tell!

The follow-up, inventively titled Now You See Me 2 (the previously-reported Now You See Me: The Second Act was apparently jettisoned, and somehow the Twitter favorite Now You Don’t wasn’t even considered), finds most of the marquee players back for another paycheck to continue the story: Mark Ruffalo, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine all return, with Daniel Radcliffe entering the mix and Lizzy Caplan apparently replacing Isla Fisher (reportedly unavailable due to pregnancy, though maybe she just didn’t to almost die again).

Here’s your first trailer:

The big takeaway from this one-minute job: It’s a sequel! You can tell from dialogue like “It’s so nice to see you all again,” “If you think you’ve seen it all, take another look,” and “It’s great to be back.”

Anyway, Now You See Me 2 will be out next summer. We’ll let you know if it’s any good—provided we can get past “the studio girl.”
