Back in October, Playboy announced it would no longer be showcasing nudity in their magazine, ending the nearly 60 year tradition of “tasteful” nudes that contributed to the company’s brand. Fittingly, Pamela Anderson, who has appeared in the magazine more than any other model, will grace the cover (her fourteenth time, and fifteenth pictorial overall) of the magazine’s final nude issue.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Anderson revealed that she received a phone call from Hugh Hefner’s attorney, who told her “We don’t want anybody else” before asking her to pose for the last nude issue.
Anderson was originally reluctant to pose nude again due to how her sons had been teased in the past about her work, but they encouraged her to go forward, saying, “‘We’re older, we’re not embarrassed anymore of you.”
In addition to the photo spread shot by famed photographer Ellen Von Unwerth, Anderson will wax nostalgic about her time with the magazine throughout the years, revealing personal stories in an interview with James Franco.
On Twitter, Playboy tweeted the cover for the January/February 2016 double-issue with the hashtag “#LastOne” and then uploaded a sneak peak of the photoshoot. The issue will hit newsstands on December 11th.
