Barbara Walters is airing her interviews with the 10 Most Fascinating People of the Year, one of whom happens to be Tracy Morgan. Morgan is on the list primarily because of the recovery he’s made since the car accident he suffered last year.
Said recovery has included getting married, appearing on the Emmy Awards, and returning to Saturday Night Live as host. Needless to say, he’s had a busy year, thanks probably to the fact that he feels so thankful he survived while his friend and comedian Jimmy Mack died. “I survived that crash for a reason. I guess my room wasn’t ready,” he said. His response when Walters asked what that reason is? “Probably to raise my daughter.”
The clip delves into Morgan’s past, which involves a character Walters describes as “a little bit spacey,” and discusses his ascendance to SNL standout and 30 Rock star. He ends the interview by saying that happiness is “having something to look forward to.”
