Watch the Trailer to Richard Linklater’s ’80s Throwback, ‘Everybody Wants Some’

Billed as “Dazed and Confused meets the ’80s,” Richard Linklater’s follow up to the widely acclaimed and award-winning Boyhood isn’t so ambitious, but it is familiar territory, which the director has honed through his earlier filmography.

The film centers on a group of college baseball players and their beer-soaked shenanigans, navigating life (i.e., parties filled with girls) sans responsibilities and supervision. They do all kinds of fun things, like: haze freshman baseball players by duct taping them to a fence and then hitting balls at them; stalk girls who say they’re cute; and drink beer from beer bongs made out of plastic baseball bats. Nevermind—it’s just like Boyhood!

The film’s cast includes Glee’s Blake Jenner; Pretty Little Liars’ Ryan Guzman; Teen Wolf’s Tyler Hoechlin; 22 Jump Street’s Wyatt Russell; Ringer’s Zoey Deutch; Scream Queens’ Glen Powell; and a slew of newcomers like Will Brittain.

Everybody Wants Some will premiere on April 15th at SXSW 2016. Watch the trailer below:
