Evocative, Ethereal Photographs of Shapes in Smoke

In the same way that clouds can assume all sorts of shapes if you stare at them for long enough, the clouds of smoke captured in the work of French photographer Gilles Soudry are full of evocative and often disconcerting shapes. Some of them resemble X-rays of fantastic creatures, others seem to hint at words, and as Hi-Fructose mag (where we first spotted these) notes, at least one of them bears a terrifying resemblance to Frank from Donnie Darko.
