Ronda Rousey to Host ‘SNL’ on January 23

Ronda Rousey, champion MMA fighter, Olympic medalist, and general badass will add another notch to her already-stocked belt: hosting Saturday Night Live. Rousey, who has appeared in a few fine films (Entourage, Furious 7) will join the long list of athletes who have hosted the show, a list that includes everyone from O.J. Simpson to Michael Jordan. Will Rousey top Jordan’s “First Black Harlem Globetrotter Sketch”? Maybe!

Rousey’s episode will air on January 23, and she’ll be joined by musical guest Selena Gomez, who you’ll recall was not always a musician. So, it will be a veritable variety hour (and-a-half)!

This isn’t the first new episode of the year, though: the January 16 episode will be hosted by Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Girls star Adam Driver, who will be joined by country guy Chris Stapleton. Stapleton has had a breakout year of his own, thanks in part to a CMA appearance alongside Justin Timberlake.
