Brian Wilson to Perform ‘Pet Sounds’ for the Last Time — at Least 50 More Times

The 50th anniversary of The Beach Boys’ beloved and immensely influential Pet Sounds falls on May 16, 2016, and Brian Wilson has announced that he’ll be honoring the golden milestone by touring the album — playing the whole thing live across over 50 just-announced dates — and then allegedly never playing it again.

The tour begins in Australia, and will end in Lake Tahoe, CA, and will see Wilson on the road from late March to mid-October (with a seeming break in August). Wilson — who recently appeared in the form of John Cusack and Paul Dano in the biopic Love and Mercy — said in a statement:

It’s really been a trip to sit here and think about releasing Pet Sounds 50 years ago. I love performing this album with my band and look forward to playing it for fans all across the world.
