Mashable reports that Hannibal Buress will now be a part of Spotify’s In Residence series, with a new show on that actually aired its first episode…today! With six planned installments in total, Buress will be providing commentary (to premium Spotify users) for a variety of songs he selects for each episode — which are formatted as playlists. Per a press release from Spotify:
Each presenter is hand-picked in recognition of their proven skills in finding, exploring and explaining the very best music around. Each episode features songs chosen by the artist as well as their free-form commentary—which can be about anything at all. In Residence shows are uncensored and no topic is off-limits.
Buress also said in a statement:
I’m excited for this opportunity to change lives and inspire people with my choice of songs. I haven’t had such an influential platform since my 2008 appearance on Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen. Thank you.
