Watch Primal Scream and Sky Ferreira Team for “Where the Light Gets In”

Primal Scream are a Scottish rock band that’s been around for 34 years. Sky Ferreira is a 23-year-old singer who has been working since she was, at least, 17. Primal Scream have toyed with electronic, krautrock, trip hop, and a dozen more musical styles. Sky Ferreira’s 2013 Night Time, My Time did just about the same. So it’s no surprise that when the two of them got together for “Where The Light Gets In,” magic happened. The song is a vampy disco jam, and the video is beautiful to match, straight out of a mod nightmare.

The song, produced by the band and Björn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John, is the first single from Primal Scream’s upcoming 11th studio album, Chaosmosis. The album also includes features from Haim, on two tracks: “100% Or Nothing” and “Trippin’ On Your Love.”

This is the most major work by Ferreira since Night Time, but she also makes an appearance on Diiv’s upcoming album, Is The Is Are, on the song “Blue Boredom.” That album is out February 5.
